Ross Richardson has a permanent part-time contract with Exakt Precision Tools and has been responsible for the Industrial Design and Mechanical Product Design of the SP180. The SP180 is a revolutionary Sander Planer power tool with interchangeable sanding and planing drums and integrated dust extraction.
• Industrial design and detailed mechanical product design for a new Sander Planer power tool.
• Extensive development and testing input, assisted during all stages of test program.
• Production ready 3D CAD for SLA and vac cast prototyping.
• Detailed CAD development for Chinese tooling.
• Detailed tolerance drawings for CNC machined cast steel and aluminium running gear. Engineering Design for fast rotating components, shafts, bearings, gearboxes and motors.
• Mechanical design in accordance with Power Tool standard EN60745
